Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for your patience and support since my last update. I was putting off posting again hoping to have some good news and problems solved before doing another update - but I figured you guys are along for the journey with me and I want to be completely transparent about the ups and downs!

During the last couple of weeks, Kickstarter has been processing peoples pledge payments and there has been a number of people for many reasons unable to compelte their pledge. First of all, this is completely undertandable and if you are one of those backers, please do not feel bad. I understand that situations change and I often prepare myself for some inevidable fall off after campaigns end. There was a total of approx $1800 worth of pledges that were dropped, which this is more than I had anticipated, however I am doing what I can to cover this personally and so far this does not look like it will impact the current timeline of rewards delivery. With the payment I recieved from Kickstarter I have paid the deposit for pin production.

If your pledge didn't go through, and your situation changes you can still have the chance to purchase items through Backerkit store.

Tariffs:
In the background I have been learning (aka struggling horribly) about navigating the changes with postage and tariffs to the US. There were major changes from the 24th July 2026, and it has been a bit confusing to get the correct information for the specifc situation of the Kickstarter! US Tariffs now charge a different amount/percentage depending on each type of items as well as the country of origin. So for example, an enamel pin may be 12.5% tariff but only 5.3% for an acrylic charm.

Shipping:
To ensure that shipping is accurate for every single person, including if you opt to add on any items from the Backerkit store, I have been measuring and weighing every single item and inputting this into the system. This means that I am not overcharging for shipping to make my life easier and avoid doing the work. As someone who lives in Australia I completely understand the shock from unexpecting shipping prices and I have certainly seen my share of business that bump up the costs and overcharge an already expensive system. Whilst I don't have the CCS4 pins in hand to weigh, I am basing it off the average of the previous pins series.

Backerkit:
I am still finalising the set up of the Backerkit survey and pre-order store, currently awaiting some support from the Backerkit team. Once we have everything resolved and ready to go I will do an update on Kickstarter and the survey links will roll out to everyone individually with your pledged rewards in your cart ready for you to chose your variants, and a chance for any add on purchases if you wish.

WE DID IT!!!
Thank you all so much for helping to make Series 4 come to life! I'm so honoured to have so many amazing people supporting my work over the years, and when I hear about people who have collected the entire series so far - it blows my mind!

We managed to complete the campaign with some stretch goals met as well, including;

• $4500 - CAMPAIGN COMPLETE! All CCS4 pins + Cryptid Club available
• $4750 - Jersey Devil special colour variant (it's giving Disney villain vibes)
• $4950 – NEW Cryptid Vinyl sticker for every backer!
• annddd..... Camp Cryptid A5 Print for every backer!

We tehcnically didn't quite make enough to get to the Camp Cryptid print unlocked, but I intend to finish it and print it myself if I have to because I really want to show my appreciation for my dedicated Cryptid Club members! Thank you so much for everything!

What happens next?

Over the next week or so, Kickstarter will process payments from everyone who backed the campaign. Then, I will be able to import the backers into Backerkit - where you will be able to chose your desired pins and add-ons, and the correct shipping applied customised to each person to ensure accuracy. You will have a chance to add any more additional items you may have missed on Kickstarter.

Surveys will be sent out in a tiered system where the VIP/Cryptozoologist backers are processed first, then those with the VAULT pin or Commission add ons, then the remainder of the tiers. This ensures that things run as smoothly as possible to prevent any issues with overselling of stock and allows me more time to work on Commissions. 

In Backerkit, you will have the chance to purcahse additional Vault pins but a reminder that the numbers are limited because there is only 1 run of each series meaning majority of the pins are x/100 and chasers are approx x/50 (with the exclusion of the Rainbow Kitsune).

Because I do not have an online store anymore and focusing on limited edition drops or Kickstarters, I know this makes it hard for my interational supporters to get pins. I may add other items to Backerkit not related to CC series, or you can email me directly if you have had your eye on something else I've made. (monstermakerart(at)gmail(dot)com).

SHIPPING UPDATES:

As always, there is constant change with rules and announcement for those in the US. I have been keeping up to date with everything I can but acknowledge things might change AGAIN before shipping is due to commence in October/November. Please make sure you are reading any updates posted on the Kickstarter - and if you have issues please try to email me directly or message on Kickstarter. 

I have had in general people contact me on Etsy, Instagram and Tumblr about the Kickstarter which it is harder for me to keep up with messages on multiple platforms, especially if I need to respond or link it with your pledges!

Hello everyone! Thank you all for the wonderful support so far with Cute Cryptids series 4, I can't believe we are in the final stretch of the campaign with only 7 days to go!

Please spread the word by letting friends and fellow Cryptid lovers know about the Kickstarter :D

Don't forget we have some awesome additional merch you can add onto your pin pledge such as stickers, iron on patches, limited edition Lino prints and shirts! The iron on patches are in my hot lil hands as we speak, and the first run of shirts should be arriving at MM headquarters within the week! 

VAULT PINS: Oh boy! I've gotten emails, DMs on insta, and DMs here but all I can say is that currently vault pins are sold out on Kickstarter, but during the Backerkit/post campaign phase there may be more become available. There is very limited stock of each pin and I did not want to disappoint anyone by over selling and it was just not feasible to make an individual listing for each and every pin from previous sets. I made a seperate listing for the Vault pin of Mothman becuase he has been the most requested :) You can always check Kickstarter as some people have changed or drop their pledge over time so this may mean a slot has become available. 

For my Patreon supporters there is a lil diary page with sketches that talks about the redesigns some of the S4 stars went through.
